What positive ethical behavior does Amazon demonstrate?

Amazon Inc. is an American electronic commerce and cloud computing company based in Seattle, Washington that was founded by Jeff Bezon on July 5, 1994. Amazon is a technology giant and it’s the largest internet retailer in the world. Amazon is very diverse as it has an online bookstore, sells DVDs, CDs, video downloads, audiobooks and much more. Amazon even has its own bran known as “AmazonBasics”. Amazon is multinational and it operates in 15 different countries. In 2015, Amazon surpassed Walmart as the most valuable retailer. (O’Brien, 2015)

Amazon's internal stakeholders are the employees, managers, and owners. The external stakeholders are suppliers, society, government, creditors, shareholders, and customers. (O’Brien, 2015)

Amazon’s goal is to make ethical decisions and make things right for customers. Amazon has taken initiative to provide customers with great prices on their retail products. Also, for about 50 dollars more a year, if you're a student, you can get Amazon Prime which allows you to get many Amazon benefits, including 2-day shipping benefits when you buy anything with Amazon. Sometimes, especially around the holidays, Amazon will ship your product over night or the same day if you meet a certain criteria. Amazon has an excellent return policy that allows customers to return/refund products back to Amazon and they've take the initiative to pay for the customer's return shipping label. You can even schedule a pick-up to have a shipping carrier pick up the returning item or you can simply drop it off. Amazon has gone above and beyond and surpassed many customer service expectations by taking the initiative to provide customers with many perks and spoiling the customer far more than any other company that I know. Once in a while you’ll see Amazon participating in charity events for cancer and more (Go Gold and Give) (https://www.acco.org/amazon).

There are many great pros that derive from positive ethical behavior for the company. The customers, the employees, the shareholders, including the community sees and notices the smallest thing about an organization. For example, I'm a big Amazon customer and I notice that their customer service is always on point and they always follow their customer service interaction with a survey regarding your experience of the interaction you had. Amazon gives their customers the best prices and alternative sellers to choose from. All these company pros definitely don’t go unnoticed and are appreciated because it only brings loyal customers, shareholders, investors, and any other stakeholder. Not too long ago, Amazon was participating in a cancer donation campaign. The community can see that Amazon is not only a great company, but also an empathetic one as well.

Victim of transborder cattle smuggling. I am not sure how young generation would react to the name of yester year’s one of the most popular writer portraying the essence of rural Bengal, its pains and joys, prosperity and poverty and off course the thread of society; Bibhuti Bhusan Bandopadhyay. His simplicity was eminent in is writing; that was best projected by famous film director Satyojit Roy in his internationally acclaimed films like ‘Pother Panchali’, ‘Aparajito’ et el.  At the age of 9, I read ‘Pother Panchali’. Though I was not matured, enough to comprehend its intrinsic message of the content but the very story left a pugmark in my mind. I became more interested about the author later. ...

five stages of radical change

The five stages of radical change are Planning, Enabling, Launching, Catalyzing and Maintaining. While each stage needs a leader with varying leadership styles, I will focus on the most important leadership styles for each.  Planning   stage requires an inspirational leader above all else (Reardon et al, 1998). The planning stage requires a leader that can get people excited about changes that might otherwise be uncomfortable or scary. A leader has to be able to convince people that change is good and will have extraordinary results, and that the status quo is worth changing.  Enabling   stage requires a leader that is mostly logical. Enabling involves examining and analyzing next steps in a way that is easy to explain to team members/employees (Reardon et al, 1998). A leader in the Enabling stage of radical organizational change will need to be accessible and able to assist employees in the next steps in a practical way. Launching   stage requires a leader who ...
